WES's Service Personnel of the Year – Tracy Staley
We are proud to recognize Tracy Staley, who has been nominated by her peers as Weirton Elementary School’s Service Personnel of the Year for Hancock County Schools.
Tracy Staley serves as an Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT) in a co-taught first-grade classroom at Weirton Elementary School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Social Work, bringing a strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning to her role.
Tracy has completed CHAMPS and ALICE trainings and has earned certificates of completion for participating in the Seven Mighty Moves and Know Better, Do Better book studies. She is committed to fostering a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where all students can grow academically and emotionally.
In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Tracy actively supports her school community. She has volunteered at Popsicles with the Principals and works alongside Mrs. Kristen Bowman-Cross with Communities in Schools (CIS), assisting with the school clothes closet, distributing coats, and providing personal hygiene items to students in need.
Outside of school, Tracy enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and her family. She loves gardening and traveling and is an active member of Point Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she assists during worship services and helps organize fundraisers. Tracy also volunteers at the New Cumberland Food Closet and coordinates the annual children’s Halloween party for the Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) at Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino.
Tracy recently shared,
“Working at Weirton Elementary School and being a teacher’s assistant is the greatest joy of my career.”
Congratulations, Tracy, and thank you for the dedication, compassion, and service you bring to the WES community every day!
